Role Overview

Senior MEP BIM Specialist

Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing trades

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Leadership & Model Management
• Lead the creation and management of detailed 3D BIM models for all MEP systems using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Level of Development (LOD) standards, and project requirements.
• Coordination & Clash Resolution
• Drive coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Conduct advanced clash detection and resolve conflicts using Navisworks Manage.
• Documentation & Deliverables
• Oversee extraction of accurate construction documents, shop drawings, and MEP schedules from BIM models.
• Ensure adherence to US/UK standards (ASHRAE, IPC, UPC, BS Standards).
• Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
• Perform regular model audits and implement QA/QC protocols.
• Optimize workflows and introduce automation using Dynamo and other scripting tools.
• Technical Mentorship & Team Support
• Provide guidance and training to junior BIM engineers.
• Support project teams in implementing best practices for BIM and VDC processes.
• Client & Project Engagement
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and client presentations.
• Address RFIs and provide technical solutions throughout project lifecycle.
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/ Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience:
• 8–10 years of experience in MEP BIM modeling and coordination.
• Proven track record of working on US/UK projects with multi-trade expertise.
• Software Proficiency:
• Expert in Autodesk Revit (MEP) and Navisworks Manage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Dynamo, and BIM 360.
• Familiarity with design tools like HAP, Trace 700, or similar is a plus.
• Standards Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE, IPC, UPC, BS Standards, and other relevant codes.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members.
