Position: Specialist – Mechanical Design
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, particularly in the field of consumer appliances, motors, e-compressor, EV components, or related domains. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end design process of mechanical systems and components, ensuring innovation, manufacturability, and durability in our product offerings.
Role responsibilities: • Hands-on experience with sheet metal, plastics, and casting component design, with expertise in DFM/DFA. • Strong knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo for 3D modeling and detailed drawings. • Undertake changes in 3D CAD, 2D Drawings, service BOM, TDS etc and adhere to ISO processes of revision and document control. • Ability to perform tolerance stack-up, GD&T;, and create manufacturing drawings compliant with industry standards. • Exposure to FEA (structural, modal, thermal) and the ability to collaborate with CAE teams for validation. • Understanding of prototyping methods (3D printing, sheet metal forming, machining) and transitioning from prototype to mass production. • Work closely with cross-functional teams (electronics, testing, manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration of mechanical design with overall product. • Resolve production issues through root cause analysis and propose cost-effective design improvements. • Support vendor development by providing design inputs, evaluating feasibility, and reviewing samples. • Execution of ECR/ECN processes. • Awareness of advance measurements technique like CMM, VMM.
Role essentials: •
Qualification – BE Mechanical/Mechatronics. •
4–5 years of proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in consumer appliances, automotive, or EV domains. • Strong understanding of GD&T;, sheet metal design, plastic part design, cast part design, and manufacturing processes. • Proficiency in CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS preferred) and familiarity with windchill systems. • Effective communication skills to convey design concepts and updates across teams and stakeholders. • Strong understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA, boundary diagram, P-diagram, RCA and NPD processes. • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity in fast-paced setups. Role essentials (culture fit): • First-principles thinking - Actively questioning every assumption then creating new knowledge and solutions from scratch. • Ambiguity - Ability to work in an unstructured setup. • Attitude - Right attitude to roll up the sleeves and be hands-on. • Complexity - Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. • Detail Orientation – Ability to pay close attention and notice minor details
