Solar Engineer

Job Title: Solar Designer Location: Delhi /NCR Department: Engineering / Renewable Energy Reports To: System Designer Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Solar Designer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting initial feasibility assessments, developing detailed solar system designs, and supporting project implementation. You will play a critical role in analysing potential sites and designing efficient, code-compliant solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, or utility-scale projects. Key Responsibilities: Feasibility & Site Analysis Conduct solar feasibility studies based on site conditions, client requirements, and regulatory constraints. Perform site surveys to collect data on shading, roof structure, orientation, azimuth, and tilt. Utilize software tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst, Aurora Solar, or manually ) to perform energy production estimates and shading analyses. Assess electrical infrastructure and load profiles for solar integration. Prepare preliminary layout designs, yield estimates, and economic viability reports. System Design & Engineering Develop detailed PV system designs including string sizing, inverter selection, and BOS (Balance of System) component specifications. Prepare CAD drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and layouts in compliance Permitting & Documentation Generate technical documentation for permitting and interconnection applications. Ensure designs meet local, state, and utility requirements. Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and utility providers as needed. Project Support Support procurement and construction teams by clarifying design intent and making field adjustments when necessary. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design revisions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 0–2 years of experience in solar PV design or a similar role. Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Helioscope, PVsyst ,solar lab) Understanding of electrical systems, load calculations, and interconnection standards. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret architectural and electrical plans. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
