As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) within the Data Platform team, you will support and enhance a core data strategy across the firm. You will work on cutting-edge platforms, interacting with business processes of a leading global bank, and adopting core SRE principles across technologies such as Big Data, AWS, and CI-CD. The presence of the team is in parts of North America, and India. collaborating on the design and implementation of the platform while working very closely with the application development groups in Corporate Technology and the platform developers. Job responsibilities Monitor and troubleshoot data jobs across multiple data platforms. Troubleshoot issues arising from data loads. Interact with upstream and downstream data systems. Engage with development teams throughout the lifecycle to troubleshoot production and non-production issues. Facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents. Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to fix production issues. Work on builds and pipelines to deploy applications. Build small automation tools. Communicate issues effectively across multiple teams. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in development. Ability to work independently with strong ownership, collaboration, and communication skills. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. Experience with continuous integration/development toolkits like GIT/Subversion/Jenkins/Sonar. Understanding of deployments and CI-CD tasks. Hands-on knowledge of Big Data platforms. Ability to perform data analysis using SQL. Hands-on AWS experience or Cloud certifications. Experience deploying and supporting micro services and cloud-based applications. Strong UNIX scripting skills. Design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Intermediate understanding of at least one technology stack or programming language (Java/Python/Scala). Experience maintaining a cloud-based infrastructure. Familiarity with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices.
