Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and analytical
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Automation
with 3–5 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in
Playwright with TypeScript
or
Selenium with Java
, along with strong exposure to API automation, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing strategies.This role requires close collaboration with engineering, QA, and product teams to build scalable automation solutions, strengthen regression coverage, and ensure robust product quality across releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
- Build and execute automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript) or Selenium (Java).
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and reusable test data supporting functional and regression testing.
- Perform API automation using frameworks such as RestAssured, SuperTest, or equivalent.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and provide input on testability and automation feasibility.
- Troubleshoot failures, analyze logs, and support engineering teams in root cause analysis.
- Maintain detailed documentation of testing activities, defects, and automation artifacts.
- Continuously improve automation coverage and recommend best practices, tools, and frameworks.
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Automation Frameworks: Playwright with TypeScript OR Selenium with Java (must have expertise in one).
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Java.
- API Automation: Hands-on experience with Postman, RestAssured, Playwright API testing, or similar tools.
- CI/CD: Exposure to Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar systems.
- Database: Solid understanding of SQL queries for data and backend validation.
- Version Control: Experience working with Git-based workflows.
- Agile: Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in sprint ceremonies.
Good To Have Skills
- Experience with frameworks like Cypress, WebdriverIO, or Katalon.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Familiarity with mocking frameworks and test data automation approaches.
