Oracle’s Database cloud services development group designs and develops the Database-as-a-Service platform that drives Oracle’s Database, Engineered Systems, Oracle Public Cloud, Oracle PaaS, and SaaS offerings.This team provides public cloud database and infrastructure management software, helping companies manage platform resources to deliver services, quality, and availability, as well as workloads in private and hybrid cloud environments. The Database Cloud Platform team is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the Oracle Database product on Public Cloud Platforms. These range from initial provisioning of the customer’s database and compute environment to complete life-cycle management of the customer’s database instance on the Oracle Public Cloud. The Database on Public Cloud products is growing rapidly, and the product features are designed to manage customer environments at a massive scale. This is a global development team spread across three regions.We are currently looking for a highly motivated technical lead with systems knowledge to work in the Database Cloud Platform Development team. This role would involve in architecture, design, prototype, and development of the various aspects of Database on Cloud releases. You will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in an area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to othersA minimum of 6+ years of experience(B.Tech/MS Degree from Top institutes) with at least 2 years in Cloud technologies
- Ability to design large, scalable distributed systems for enterprise customers
- Strong competency in programming with Java, Python
- Concepts of multi-tenancy: DB-as-a-Service (DBaaS) or similar (PaaS, IaaS), cloud security, virtualization, and Service Level Availability a strong plus
- Strong understanding of Networking and storage systems.
- Expertise in writing well-modularized, maintainable software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in both technical and non-technical contexts
- Experience building cloud-based platforms that enable application design, development, testing, and distribution.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills
Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the development, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.Work on features for Exadata database cloud services- Public Cloud Platforms, which include but may not be limited to the following:
- Design, and Development of new features, enhancements, and next-generation Exadata cloud service.
- Work closely with senior developers, Product Management, IT, and Operations teams for the complete SDLC of the database cloud product
- Participate in transformational projects to deliver scalable, extensible, and differentiated Platform-as-a-Service on the Cloud.
- Interact with various Oracle Product teams to understand how those can be integrated into the DB-as-a-Service offering
- Provide level 3 support and root cause analysis of systems-related issues on the Exadata Cloud services.
- Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others
