Key Responsibilities: 1. Control Panel Design & Drafting Design General Arrangement (GA) drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), and layout drawings . Develop control circuit diagrams, power wiring schematics, and interconnection drawings . Select and specify electrical components, relays, contactors, and protection devices . Ensure optimal space utilization and heat dissipation in panel design. 2. PLC, VFD & MCC System Design Design PLC-based control systems for industrial automation. Develop VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) panel designs for motor control applications. Design MCC (Motor Control Center) panels for multi-motor systems. Create wiring diagrams for I/O modules, sensors, relays, and communication networks . 3. Electrical Load & Power Calculations Perform power calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and breaker selection . Ensure proper circuit protection (MCB, MCCB, fuse selection) and grounding system design . Design earthing and surge protection systems for control panels. 4. Bill of Materials (BOM) & Component Selection Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for panel manufacturing . Select PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, etc.) as per project requirements. Specify appropriate VFD models, contactors, relays, and other electrical components . 5. Documentation & Manual Preparation Develop operation and maintenance manuals for control panels. Prepare detailed wiring schedules, terminal numbering, and panel layout diagrams . Create testing and commissioning procedures for panel installations. 6. Coordination & Project Execution Work closely with production, purchase, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution. Support the panel wiring team with technical guidance during assembly. Collaborate with PLC programmers and commissioning engineers for integration and troubleshooting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN for schematic and GA drawing preparation. Strong knowledge of PLC, VFD, MCC panel design and wiring standards . Roles and Responsibilities Ability to develop and/or follow a project plan knowing the importance of setting and meeting milestone dates. Co-develop successive releases of controls software products in coordination with product champions. This includes the performance of complex design, maintenance, enhancement, testing, implementation, and support of these products. Experience in the design and development of controls based on physical layouts is expected. Software must be well structured, easy to understand and well documented. Develop software tools for the rapid deployment of controls software products for testing and applications environments. Ability to baseline existing systems, make needed improvements to stabilize/upgrade existing systems. This will require the ability to complete a complex review of requirements and limitations to determine that the systems perform optimally. Complete the quality process through the execution of module, subsystem, and system test procedures including customer site commissioning when required.
