PLC Engineer (Baggage Handling-Airport Operations)

Strategic

• Solve high/low level control errors
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of system software
• Maintain all site hardware and software,
• Long term bin planning
• Contact point with headquarter IT departments and control support
• IT configuration management
• Change management on control level
• Initiate and execute improvement actions

Functional

• Monitor hardware, software, network performances
• Solve & troubleshoot real live problems
• Maintain and archive releases, versions and updates
• Implement software updates and patches
• First line support for the hotline

Hardware

• Computers and accessories (e.g., monitors, keyboard, hard drives)
• Networking system (IP settings, firewalls)
• VPN (remote connection)
• Server racks, direct contact with HP organization

System applications:

• Siemens PLC S7 & higher version(low level controls)
• SCADA
• Destination Servers (high level controls)
• Quality applications (process intelligence applications)
• Barcode Scanners
• IT Interfacing with X-ray monitoring system

People

• Is able to manages team at level 30-40, performing a variety of interrelated activities. Sets priorities, distributes work, monitoring progress and quality.
• Methodologically analyzing and improving departmental processes, such as people development

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
