Job Purpose

To develop and implement a structured shooting program that promotes skill, discipline, and excellence in the sport. The Shooting Instructor will train students across age groups, nurture talent for competitive levels, and ensure safety, technique, and holistic development through the sport.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Training

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate training sessions for beginners, intermediate, and advanced shooters.
  • Focus on developing students’ technical, tactical, and mental skills required in shooting sports.
  • Identify and nurture talent for district, state, national, and international competitions.
  • Provide individualized guidance to students to enhance performance and confidence.

Program Development & Leadership

  • Establish a structured shooting curriculum integrated with the school’s sports vision.
  • Promote shooting as a sport of focus, discipline, and concentration.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Sports and management for event participation and talent promotion.
  • Ensure inclusivity, encouraging both recreational and competitive participation.

Safety & Facility Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols at all times.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the shooting range, equipment, and accessories.
  • Maintain records of equipment usage, servicing, and inventory.
  • Train students in responsible use and care of equipment.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Monitor and evaluate student performance and progress.
  • Share feedback and progress reports with students, parents, and school leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, performance outcomes, and competition results.

Events & Competitions

  • Prepare students for intra-school, inter-school, and external shooting competitions.
  • Organize shooting events, demonstrations, and awareness programs at the school.
  • Build pathways for students aspiring to pursue shooting professionally.

Professional Development

  • Stay updated with the latest techniques, technologies, and regulations in shooting sports.
  • Network with federations, academies, and sports bodies to expand opportunities for students.
  • Continuously enhance coaching methods and strategies through training and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certified Shooting Coach (National Rifle Association of India or equivalent certification mandatory).
  • Additional certifications in sports psychology or fitness training (desirable).

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Shooting Coach, with a proven track record of coaching at school, academy, or competitive levels.
  • Experience training students for district/state/national-level competitions.
  • Prior experience in an international or progressive school setting is an advantage.
