Service Engineer - Hydraulic industry

Job Title:

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana

Experience Required: 5+ years (with mandatory hydraulics/fluid power industry experience)

Travel: Up to 50% (domestic and possibly international)

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Service & Field Operations

• Perform on-site and in-house service, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic machines and equipment while adhering to all safety protocols
• Conduct field service visits, machine commissioning, installation, and customer training across various locations (up to 50% travel expected)
• Execute timely repairs and troubleshooting of machines returned to the Service Department
• Deliver comprehensive start-up services and hands-on training for customers on new and refurbished hydraulic machinery

Customer Support & Documentation

• Handle incoming technical support calls, providing expert guidance on machine operation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Prepare detailed customer quotations for field service, preventative maintenance programs, and employee training sessions
• Create comprehensive field service reports with photographic documentation where required
• Support Sales and Marketing teams during customer visits and technical demonstrations

Technical Collaboration

• Collaborate with the Germany-based technical team to resolve complex technical issues and implement solutions
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and well-stocked Service Department
• Ensure proper documentation of all service activities and maintain service records

Secondary Responsibilities

• Assist the Shipping and Receiving Department with logistics coordination
• Prepare machines and equipment for safe shipment to customers
• Support Sales and Marketing in preparing technical quotations for spare parts and machines
• Proactively identify and suggest improvements to enhance internal processes and customer service efficiency

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in machine repair and service (preferably in hydraulics/fluid power industry)
• Industry-specific experience is mandatory - candidates from hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid power, or industrial machinery sectors strongly preferred
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field
• Proven track record in hydraulic/pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair

Technical Skills (Must-Have)

• Strong ability to read and interpret fluid power schematics (hydraulic and pneumatic circuits)
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics and control diagrams
• Working knowledge of fluid power systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and accumulators
• Understanding of electrical controls, PLCs, sensors, and automation systems
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance
