Expeditors satisfies the increasingly sophisticated needs of international trade through customized solutions and seamless, integrated information systems.We have an exciting opportunity to build a new team to advance our User Experience for our internally built software. The new User Experience Design System team is dedicated to driving consistency, efficiency and scalability across our operational applications. This team will be responsible for collaborating with project teams to create a unified, reusable design system which provides a positive user experience, streamlines front end development and ensures consistent behavior across our applications. To start, the team members will focus on the Deliver the exp.o Solutions initiative and the Customer Service Request epic.Over time, the vision for this team is that they will:
- Create and maintain a shared design system by defining best practices for usage, versioning, and updates.
- Establish a UI component library with a unified visual language and interaction model.
- Foster collaboration between design and development across product teams.
- Research, define, and curate which technology to use to meet the user experience and development requirements
The Senior UX Designer is a key leader on this team, responsible for the collaborating with team members to create a shared Design System for our operational systems. As a foundational leader on the team, you will be responsible for creating best-in-class components that will be used in multiple applications and provide our users with modern, intuitive and functional UIs.
Qualifications
Essential Experience
- 6+ years of relevant, on-the-job experience in a Product Design, UX Design, Service Design, or Design Research role delivering complex design systems for web and native applications
- Fluent in user-centered design / Design Thinking and Lean UX processes
- Demonstrated experience performing activities across the UX spectrum (e.g., stakeholder/user interviews, heuristic evaluations, competitive analysis, user profile/persona creation, journey mapping, information architecture, concept ideation, wireframing, interaction design, prototyping, user testing, and visual design)
- Working knowledge of HTML 5, CSS, and other web technologies
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure design is successfully implemented
- Highly motivated, engaging and able to work effectively within a team environment, always delivering results on time
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing for enterprise software solutions
- Understanding of the transportation/logistics industry and/or customs brokerage
- Experience/knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Experience with the Figma design application
- Experience building and using an enterprise UX Design System
