Position Overview

The Senior Technical Lead – Spartacus is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of front-end solutions using Spartacus (SAP Commerce Cloud storefront framework). The role ensures seamless integration with SAP Commerce (Hybris), high-quality UI/UX delivery, and adherence to industry best practices in web application development. The Senior Technical Lead will guide front-end teams, enforce coding standards, and work closely with back-end and functional teams to deliver a fully integrated digital commerce experience.

Key Responsibilities1. Front-End Technical Leadership

· Lead and oversee the development of Spartacus-based storefronts.

· Define and maintain front-end coding standards, architecture, and development guidelines.

· Ensure alignment between Spartacus enhancements and SAP Commerce back-end capabilities.

2. Spartacus Architecture & Solution Design

· Design modular, scalable, and high-performance Spartacus components.

· Collaborate with SAP Commerce technical leads to ensure end-to-end integration.

· Evaluate new Spartacus releases and align upgrades with project roadmaps.

· Translate business requirements into technical designs and front-end implementation plans.

3. Integration Management

· Ensure seamless communication between Spartacus and SAP Commerce OCC APIs.

· Implement and optimize REST API consumption, error handling, authentication flows, and session management.

· Work closely with SAP Commerce teams to troubleshoot OCC inconsistencies or performance issues.

4. Code Quality & Best Practices

· Review and approve code to ensure clean, reusable, and maintainable development.

· Enforce best practices in Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, state management, and responsive design.

· Ensure adherence to WCAG accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility.

5. Hands-on Development

· Develop complex Spartacus customizations, features, and extensions when needed.

· Implement theming, layout adjustments, and custom UI components.

· Optimize application performance, load times, and SEO readiness.

6. Collaboration & Mentorship

· Mentor and guide front-end developers on Spartacus, Angular, and web best practices.

· Conduct technical training, code walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

· Collaborate with UX/UI designers, QA engineers, SAP Commerce back-end teams, and DevOps.

7. Deployment, CI/CD & Support

· Work with DevOps teams to ensure stable CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.

· Participate in production rollout planning, troubleshooting, and post-launch support.

· Ensure version control, build integrity, and proper documentation.

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

· Extensive hands-on experience with Spartacus and SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) storefront integration.

· Strong expertise in Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, RxJS, and HTML/CSS/SCSS.

· Deep understanding of OCC APIs, REST integration, and headless commerce architecture.

· Experience with state management libraries (NGRX or similar).

· Strong understanding of responsive UI development and best practices.

· Experience with SEO, accessibility standards, and performance optimization.

· Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (SAP CCV2 / AWS / Azure).

Experience Requirements

· 5–8+ years of web development experience.

· 3+ years of direct experience with Spartacus and Angular.

· Experience integrating Spartacus with SAP Commerce OCC APIs.

· Proven success leading front-end teams in enterprise digital commerce projects.

Preferred Certifications

While optional, the following certifications are a strong advantage:

· SAP Certified Spartacus Developer (if available depending on region)

· SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) Certification

· Angular Professional Certification (e.g., from Google/third parties)

· Cloud Practitioner Certification (AWS/Azure)

· Agile/Scrum Certification (CSM, PSM)

Language Requirements

· Fluency in English (required)
