Technical Design Consultant

Responsibilities:

You will be involved in all aspects of the software implementation lifecycle including: solution definition, requirements gathering, detailed design, software development and configuration, testing and deployment. This position requires strong customer facing skills as well as some knowledge of SQL to facilitate the configuration and delivery of our products.

Specific duties include:

• Acquire detailed product knowledge of all software modules to execute assigned project tasks for successful customer implementations
• Work with clients to develop best approaches to use our software to accomplish their telecom expense management objectives
• Work with clients to define configuration requirements as well as create supporting functional and detailed designs
• Configure software and develop interfaces to external client applications to meet business requirements
• Convert inventory and invoice data from existing client applications into the appropriate modules
• Test configured and/or developed functionality for clients
• Troubleshoot application and implementation issues by taking ownership of questions, researching architectural, or application issues and provide appropriate solutions
• Provide product feedback (client requirements, product shortcomings, enhancements, etc.) to product management and/or engineering.

• Requirements:

• B.S/MS in Information Technology or Computer Science;
• 4+ years application software implementation and/or IT consulting experience in applying technology to meet client needs. 2+ years in working closely with clients
• 4+ years of Telecom experience, preferably Telecom Expense Management
• Full life cycle application software implementation or development experience that includes large, complex package and/or custom software implementations with Fortune 1000 customers
• Experience in developing or configuring applications using a variety of technologies including: database structure and queries, SQL, and basic UNIX commands
• Experienced in batch applications
• Excellent customer facing skills are required to help manage and facilitate the development and delivery of our products
• Experience working with client business process owners is highly desirable
• Strong oral presentation, written communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Self starter with a proved track record of success. Solid team player with a positive attitude and a record of consistent follow through on commitments.
• Availability for overnight travel (approx 15%
