Senior SWE - Engineering Systems (Dev Tooling)

You will help us build the tools necessary to accelerate our engineering teams and orchestrate the cloud-based systems that power Engage. - Deploy new code every day to our tens of millions of users and are constantly innovating to improve our systems and deliver a delightful experience to Engage's developers. - Our stack: - Linux on Azure - Java and Ruby micro services, deployed as docker containers - Graph QL, Dropwizard, Rails REST APIs - Postgres/CosmosDB/Kafka/RabbitMQ/Redis storage and queuing - Mesos container orchestration, HAProxy-based service mesh

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python - OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration systems.
• Experience operating and evolving large-scale distributed systems in a cloud infrastructure.
• A penchant for automating the boring stuff.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Ability to break down technical problems and solve them systematically.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
• These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience with application deployment using CI/CD.
• Apache Mesos, Google Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Docker, Rocket, LXC.
• Linux, Ubuntu, CoreOS, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform.
• Azure DevOps, Spinnaker, GitHub, GitLab.
• Infrastructure-as-code, Chef, Ansible, Puppet.
• Test-driven development, integration testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery, Jenkins, TeamCity, Travis CI, CircleCI. Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
