Senior Sql Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our database systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across on-premise and Azure cloud environments.
• Monitor, optimize, and tune database performance to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Implement and manage database backups, disaster recovery, and security protocols.
• Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database administration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBA staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in database administration, with a strong background in SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Required Skills

• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (including Azure SQL Database, Azure PostgreSQL, and cloud migration strategies).
• In-depth knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and security.
• Strong understanding of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with DevOps practices and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, PostgreSQL Certification, or Oracle Certified Professional are a plus.
