About the Role:

Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and optimize

  SQL Server databases

  (2016 and above) across development, test, and production environments.
• Design, deploy, and maintain

  Azure SQL Database

  ,

  SQL Managed Instance

  , and

  SQL Server on Azure VMs

  .
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify tuning opportunities.
  
• Implement and manage

  high availability

  and

  disaster recovery

  solutions, including

  Always On

  ,

  Log Shipping

  , and

  Azure Site Recovery

  .
• Automate routine database tasks using

  PowerShell

  or

  T-SQL scripts

  .
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for schema design, query tuning, and database version control.
  
• Ensure database backups, restores, and compliance with security standards.
  
• Participate in database upgrades, migrations (on-prem to cloud), and patching activities.
  
• Leverage

  Azure Monitor

  ,

  Log Analytics

  , and

  Azure Security Center

  for proactive database health monitoring.
• Maintain documentation of architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a

  SQL Server DBA

  , with at least 3 years in

  Azure-based environments

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  Azure SQL Database

  ,

  SQL Managed Instances

  , and

  SQL Server on IaaS

  .
• Strong expertise in

  performance tuning

  ,

  query optimization

  ,

  indexing

  , and

  execution plan analysis

  .
• Deep understanding of

  backup/restore strategies

  ,

  HA/DR solutions

  , and

  replication

  techniques.
• Experience in

  database migration

  using

  Data Migration Assistant (DMA)

  or

  Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)

  .
• Proficiency in

  PowerShell

  ,

  T-SQL

  , and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with

  Azure DevOps

  ,

  ARM templates

  , or

  Terraform

  is a plus.
• Microsoft Certification (e.g.,

  DP-300: Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure

  ) preferred.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of

  NoSQL

  (e.g., Cosmos DB) or

  integrations.
• Exposure to

  CI/CD pipelines

  in a data environment.
