Senior Sql Database Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and maintain our database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the databases while supporting the organization's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management

  : Install, configure, and manage SQL Server databases in development, testing, and production environments.

• Performance Tuning

  : Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure high performance and availability.

• Backup & Recovery

  : Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.

• Security

  : Ensure data security by managing access permissions, roles, and enforcing database security standards.

• Troubleshooting

  : Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.

• Database Design

  : Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database structures to support application requirements.

• Automation

  : Develop and maintain scripts for automating database maintenance tasks and routine processes.

• Documentation

  : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, policies, and procedures.

• Compliance

  : Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational standards.

• Collaboration

  : Work closely with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-dependent applications.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (4+ years) as an SQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL Server database management and optimization techniques.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
• Experience with backup and recovery tools and disaster recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with database security practices and compliance standards.
• Understanding of Windows Server environments and Active Directory integration.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud database platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
