Senior R&D Executive

We are looking for a Senior R&D Executive to drive the development of Ayurvedic, herbal, and nutraceutical products from concept to commercialisation. The role involves independent formulation work, optimisation of existing products, stability testing, documentation, and close coordination with manufacturing and quality teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in pharmaceutics, hands-on lab experience, and a practical understanding of Ayurvedic ingredients and regulatory requirements at SDH Naturals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of Ayurvedic and herbal formulations including capsules, tablets, powders, syrups, oils, and functional blends.
• Optimise existing formulations for stability, shelf life, bioavailability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Interpret classical Ayurvedic references and convert them into compliant, scalable dosage forms.
• Plan and execute laboratory trials, pilot batches, and scale-up activities in coordination with production and QA.
• Design and monitor stability studies and coordinate analytical testing such as microbial limits, heavy metals, and marker compounds.
• Prepare and maintain formulation documentation including PDRs, MFRs, SOPs, validation protocols, and technical data sheets.
• Ensure all formulations and documentation comply with FSSAI, AYUSH, and nutraceutical regulations.
• Troubleshoot formulation or process issues during manufacturing and post-launch.
• Guide junior R&D staff and review formulation and documentation work where required.
• Track industry trends, emerging ingredients, and competitor products in the Ayurvedic and wellness space.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Ayurvedic, herbal, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical R&D.
• Strong understanding of Ayurvedic ingredients, extracts, excipients, and dosage-form science.
• Experience with stability testing, scale-up support, and regulatory documentation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple development projects, and meet timelines.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and documentation discipline.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with QA, production, and marketing teams.
