Senior Quality Engineer

• Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques such as:
• Dye Penetrant Test (DPT) – for surface cracks and porosity
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – for internal defects and thickness measurement
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) – for surface/subsurface cracks in ferromagnetic materials
• Radiographic Testing (RT) – where applicable, for detecting internal flaws through imaging
• Inspect and evaluate weld joints, base metals, fabrication assemblies, and critical components as per engineering drawings, WPS, and project specifications.
• Maintain detailed, traceable, and accurate inspection reports, including NDT test results, defect logs, acceptance criteria, and final judgment (Accept/Reject).
• Coordinate closely with the fabrication shop, welders, and quality engineers to ensure real-time resolution of welding quality issues and adherence to quality norms.
• Review and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), PQRs (Procedure Qualification Records), and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualifications).
• Identify, mark, and document all non-conformities or defective welds, and initiate appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Monitor and ensure rework/repair of defective items are carried out as per approved repair procedures and re-tested before clearance.
• Ensure strict compliance with applicable quality codes and standards, such as:
• ASME Sec IX
• AWS D1.1 / D1.2
• ISO 17637 / ISO 9712
• Client or project-specific QAPs (Quality Assurance Plans)
• Conduct Visual Testing (VT) and Dimensional Inspection in areas where NDT is not applicable or specified as "NO NDT" zones.
• Maintain and calibrate NDT instruments regularly and ensure they are certified and traceable to national standards.
• Participate in internal audits, third-party inspections, and client witness tests as required.
• Support the Quality Manager in preparing NDT procedures, quality documents, checklists, and compliance records.
• Train and guide junior inspectors or technicians on safety precautions, testing methods, and interpretation of results.
