Senior Quality Controller

We are looking for a Head Quality Controller who ensures that all products manufactured in the iron and steel plant meet quality standards and specifications. The role involves monitoring production processes, conducting quality tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with production teams to maintain quality and improve processes.

Key Responsibilities:-

Inspection and Quality Control:

• Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.) and company specifications.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT), tensile testing, and hardness testing as required.
• Measure dimensions, weight, and other physical properties of products to confirm adherence to standards.

Process Monitoring:

• Monitor production processes to ensure quality control procedures are being followed.
• Identify deviations from standards and collaborate with production staff to resolve quality issues.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
• Prepare detailed quality reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist in internal and external audits related to quality management systems.

Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure compliance with relevant quality certifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Stay updated with advancements in quality control methodologies and industry best practices.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the production, maintenance, and engineering teams to address quality challenges.
• Provide feedback and training on quality standards and procedures when necessary.

Required Skills and Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of quality control processes in the iron and steel manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in operating and interpreting results from testing equipment such as spectrometers, tensile testing machines, and ultrasonic flaw detectors.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to identify and document discrepancies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in quality control within the iron and steel industry.
• Certification in NDT or other quality assurance techniques (preferred).
