Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will lead and oversee interior design and fit-out projects from concept to completion. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery across all project stages. The position demands strong leadership, technical proficiency, and effective coordination among internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage multiple interior design and fit-out projects across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and design teams.
  • Oversee the full project lifecyclefrom initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and final handover.

2. Client Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate project requirements, design intent, progress updates, and deliverables clearly and consistently.
  • Manage client expectations, address queries, and resolve issues promptly.

3. Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop comprehensive project plans including detailed schedules, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress and proactively identify risks, delays, or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams to ensure seamless alignment with project timelines.

4. Budget & Cost Control

  • Track project budgets to ensure alignment with approved cost estimates.
  • Approve procurement requests, manage subcontractor variations, and oversee payment processes.
  • Collaborate with the QS and finance teams to optimize resource utilization and maintain cost control.

5. Team & Site Management

  • Lead site teams, project engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality-driven execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality standards, and safety compliance.
  • Supervise snagging activities and ensure smooth project close-out and handover.

6. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all work adheres to approved design specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental guidelines across all project sites.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management.

Experience

  • 8 - 12 years of project management experience, including 3–5 years in a senior role within the interior design or fit-out industry.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent project planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of interior materials, finishes, MEP coordination, and fit-out execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Experience in luxury interior projects or working with international clients.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and green building practices in interior design and fit-out.
