Senior Piping Engineer

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed piping design drawings: GA, isometric, spool, and support drawings.

Review and verify P&IDs, equipment layouts, and design documents for accuracy and compliance.

Perform pipe routing and coordination with structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

Conduct design checks for compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.

Prepare and review material take-offs, BOMs, and piping datasheets.

Provide input for pipe stress analysis and flexibility checks.

Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and specifications for design compliance.

Identify and resolve design clashes and propose effective solutions.

Mentor junior piping engineers and provide technical guidance.

Participate in project progress meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP discussions.

Ensure adherence to project documentation standards, quality, and safety requirements.

Assist in estimating design efforts and planning project timelines.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Piping, or Chemical Engineering.

3–5 years of experience in piping design for industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical).

Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D, including orthographic drawings, isometrics, and spool drawings.

Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, PIP).

Experience in pipe stress analysis software (CAESAR II, AutoPIPE) is preferred.

Knowledge of material selection, pipe supports, insulation, and design for operability and maintainability.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

Ability to review and mentor junior engineers.

Good knowledge of project documentation management, QA/QC procedures, and workflow standards.

Strong communication, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Understanding of project lifecycle from FEED to IFC/As-Built.
