Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

PENNEP is looking for a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our Client with mandatory hands-on experience in ball screws , spindle bearing assemblies , and Turcite application and maintenance . The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-precision CNC/VMC machines to ensure consistent performance, accuracy, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Independently handle disassembly, inspection, repair, and installation of ball screws in CNC/VMC machines. Replace and adjust spindle bearings , including preload setting, alignment checks, and thermal/vibration analysis. Perform Turcite application, scraping, bonding, and alignment of machine slideways and guide surfaces. Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance for CNC/VMC machines used in precision manufacturing. Use precision tools (e.g., dial indicators, micrometers, laser alignment tools) for measurement and machine geometry corrections. Maintain detailed service records and reports for repairs, replacements, and adjustments. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule and prioritise machine maintenance activities. Implement standard maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of machine components. Train junior technicians and support troubleshooting escalations. Required Skills and Experience: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field. Minimum 6–8 years of experience in precision machine maintenance. Proven expertise in CNC/VMC machine maintenance with a strong focus on mechanical components. Knowledge of hydraulic and lubrication systems related to CNC machinery. Familiarity with CMMS tools and machine maintenance documentation. Mandatory Skills: Ball screw repair and alignment Spindle bearing replacement and preload adjustment Turcite application and scraping Nice to have Skills Experience in spare parts or tool room environments. Exposure to Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi-controlled machines. Basic knowledge of servo/axis motors and drives.
