Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Sales & Key Account Management to drive growth in our Solar & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business. The role requires end-to-end ownership of the sales cycle from opportunity identification and deal closure to post-sales commercial management and key account retention. The incumbent will play a strategic role in expanding market presence, building long-term customer relationships, and ensuring timely revenue realization.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for Solar & BESS projects in the C&I, Utility, and Government sectors.
  • Generate new business opportunities and manage the complete sales cycle (lead generation proposal negotiation closure).
  • Prepare and deliver techno-commercial proposals, RFPs, and large project bids.
  • Achieve annual order booking and revenue targets.

Key Account Management

  • Manage relationships with strategic customers, EPCs, IPPs, utilities, and consultants.
  • Act as the single point of contact for key clients from pre-sales through execution and after-sales.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to identify account growth opportunities.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and secure repeat business.

Commercial & Revenue Management

  • Ensure timely invoicing and payment collections from clients as per contract terms.
  • Track receivables, manage LCs/Bank Guarantees, and resolve commercial disputes.
  • Align closely with finance and legal teams for commercial closure and cash flow management.
  • Provide periodic MIS reports on sales, billing, and collections.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor regulatory policies, competitive landscape, and new market trends in renewable energy & storage.
  • Provide insights to the leadership team on pricing, financing models, and customer demands.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions, and policy discussions.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Execution, and Finance teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Mentor junior sales executives/KAMs and contribute to building a high-performance sales culture.
  • Report to the Business Head – Energy with accurate forecasts and pipeline updates.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, BESS technologies, and hybrid renewable energy solutions.
  • Proven track record in closing large-scale Solar/BESS deals (multi-MW/MWh).
  • Expertise in strategic account management and high-value negotiations.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in contract management and receivables collection.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and CXO-level engagement skills.
