Senior Manager - Horticulture

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead and manage a diverse team of horticulturists, technicians, and field staff.
  
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, ensuring continuous professional development for team members.
  
• Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  

• Horticultural Planning & Design:

• Oversee the planning and design of landscaping and horticultural projects, ensuring that designs are practical, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing.
  
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate horticultural elements into broader project plans.
  

• Project Management:

• Manage multiple horticultural projects simultaneously, from initial concept through to completion, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget.
  
• Monitor the progress of projects, identifying any potential issues or risks, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  

• Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship:

• Implement sustainable horticultural practices, including water management, soil health, and eco-friendly pest control.
  
• Stay up-to-date on the latest environmental regulations and trends in sustainable horticulture to apply best practices.
  

• Budgeting & Resource Allocation:

• Prepare and manage budgets for horticultural projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource utilization.
  
• Manage procurement of plants, materials, tools, and equipment.
  

• Quality Control & Maintenance:

• Establish and enforce maintenance schedules and quality standards for horticultural installations.
  
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental guidelines.
  

• Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and relationships are maintained.
  
• Provide technical advice and guidance to clients, addressing concerns and offering solutions.
  

• Research & Innovation:

• Stay abreast of horticultural trends, innovations, and new technologies to ensure the company remains competitive in the field.
  
• Implement new techniques and technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and environmental impact.
  

Qualifications:

• Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Agriculture, or a related field.
  

• Experience:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in horticulture management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  
• Proven experience in managing large-scale horticultural projects from concept to completion.
  
• Strong knowledge of plant species, horticultural practices, pest management, irrigation, and sustainable landscaping.
  

• Skills:

• Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to analyze and solve complex horticultural problems.
  
• Budgeting and financial management experience.
  
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.

Work Environment:

• Mostly field-based with some office work; requires regular site visits and physical activity.
