As a Horticulture Supervisor, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the University gardens, landscape installation and maintenance, as well as construction and maintenance of signage. Working with a team of supervisors, you will lead staff to meet the operations and maintenance needs of the University. This position is full-time and exempt from hourly wage. Ideally, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or landscape management. Alternatively, three to five years of verified work experience in these areas will be considered. Demonstrated competence in Horticulture and/or landscaping, along with at least three years of experience as a foreman or supervisor, are required. Your responsibilities will include planning and supervising the annual, seasonal, and daily work of the horticultural staff. You will inspect University landscape, flower sites, and signage regularly to ensure effective planning and supervision. Additionally, you will supervise the design, procurement, planting, and maintenance of flower sites. Collaborating with Park Planner(s), you will work on landscape design in the parks and around facilities. You will also oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of landscape plants, structures, and materials as well as sign construction and maintenance. Furthermore, hiring, supervising, training, and evaluating horticultural staff will be part of your role. Physically, this position requires activities such as kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs alone and over 50 lbs with assistance, handwork with power equipment and hand tools, climbing, pushing/pulling, standing for long periods, and sitting while operating equipment or at a computer. You will also be responsible for operating various types of equipment and tools. This full-time, permanent position offers a monthly salary ranging from 20,000.00 to 25,000.00 INR.
