The Senior Manager - Engineering (Dry Coolers) will be responsible to set up a new team of engineers and lead them in engineering, design, and development of dry cooler systems. This position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end engineering lifecycle including conceptualization, design, prototyping, validation, and production support while ensuring high quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
1. Technical Leadership: Be able to set up a team of engineers exclusively for Dry Cooler Lead and manage the engineering team focused on design and development. Review and approve product designs, calculations, and simulations (CFD, thermal, structural). Ensure product compliance with relevant ASME, ANSI, CE, UL, or other applicable standards. Guide the selection of components (fans, motors, coils, etc.) based on thermal and performance requirements.
2. Product Development & Innovation: Drive R& D initiatives for energy-efficient and high-performance dry cooler systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement. Optimize existing designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
3. Project Management: Manage multiple engineering projects with clear timelines, resource planning, and deliverables. Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and marketing for product development lifecycle. Ensure timely documentation including BOMs, technical datasheets, test reports, and manuals.
4. Customer & Sales Support: Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams, including pre-sales engineering and custom solutioning. Review and approve engineering content for bids, proposals, and customer documentation. Address field issues with root-cause analysis and engineering corrections.
5. Team Management & Development: Mentor and develop a team of design and development engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. Lead performance reviews, training needs assessments, and skill development initiatives.
Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related field. Experience: 12-15 years of experience in engineering design and development of dry coolers, heat exchangers, or similar HVAC/R equipment. Proven experience in leading technical teams and projects. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. Proficiency in engineering tools like HVAC Thermal rating software, SolidWorks/Creo, AutoCAD, ANSYS, CFD tools, etc. Familiarity with ERP systems and PLM tools. Understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to coils, sheet metal, and assembly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership presence with a collaborative management style. Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory): Certifications in HVAC standards or energy efficiency
