We are hiring : Senior Machine Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machines (SPM) Location: Mohali, Punjab Job Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Machine Design Engineer with a strong background in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and custom automation equipment. The role includes conceptual design, detailed engineering, and supporting machine build and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems for SPMs using SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Inventor Create detailed 2D drawings & 3D models Collaborate with electrical, controls, and production teams Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis & material selection Review designs using simulations, FEA, prototyping Prepare BOMs, assembly drawings & technical documents Support machine assembly, testing & commissioning Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards Provide technical troubleshooting and improvement support Required Skills & Experience Minimum 5+ years experience in SPM / automation machine design Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools Knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, linear guides, bearings, gearboxes Experience in mechanisms like pick & place, indexing, assembly, inspection Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing processes Ability to interpret customer requirements into machine concepts Excellent problem-solving skills Willingness to travel for trials & installations Qualifications B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics CAD certifications preferred Preferred Experience with servo systems, sensors, PLC/robotics integration Vendor coordination for prototypes Exposure to high-speed automation, vision systems, robotic integration.
