Senior Legal Counsel

You are a diversified group with a strong market presence in retail (sarees, ethnic wear, and designer blouses), e-commerce, and hospitality. Your brands are renowned for their legacy, quality, and innovation across East and Central India, with ambitious national expansion plans. As a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for leading and managing all legal affairs for the group companies. You should possess profound expertise in corporate, commercial, retail, and compliance law, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Your key responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts and agreements such as vendor, franchise, employment, lease, and partnership agreements. Additionally, you will provide legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, intellectual property protection, dispute resolution, and litigation management. It will be essential to stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting the retail, e-commerce, and hospitality sectors. Collaborating with internal teams like HR, Finance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure legal compliance across all functions will also be part of your role. Furthermore, managing legal due diligence for new store openings, franchising, mergers, and acquisitions will be a critical aspect of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you must hold an LLB/LLM from a reputable law school and have over 10 years of experience in legal advisory positions, preferably in retail, FMCG, or hospitality sectors. A strong understanding of commercial contracts, employment law, and corporate governance is necessary. Proven experience in handling litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters is crucial, along with excellent negotiation, communication, and drafting skills. The ability to work both independently and as a part of a cross-functional leadership team is essential.
