Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

    1. Contract Management:

      • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including supplier agreements, customer contracts, and service agreements.
      • Ensure that all contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.
    2. Regulatory Compliance:

      • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws and regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry.
      • Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage any legal issues related to compliance.
    3. Legal Advice and Support:

      • Provide legal advice to various departments on a wide range of legal issues.
      • Assist in the development of legal strategies and policies.
    4. Dispute Resolution:

      • Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation involving the company.
      • Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
    5. Corporate Governance:

      • Assist in maintaining corporate records and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.
      • Support the preparation and management of board meetings and shareholder meetings.
    6. Risk Management:

      • Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities.
      • Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
    7. Training and Awareness:

      • Conduct training sessions for employees on legal topics such as compliance, anti-bribery, and intellectual property.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelors degree in law (LLB) or equivalent; a Masters degree or specialization in business law is a plus.
    • Professional certification or membership in a legal body (e.g., Bar Council).
    • Several years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
    • Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in legal research and legal document management software.
