GeoSpatial Senior Developer

Core Java, Spark, and AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain geospatial applications using Core Java and Apache Spark technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement scalable data solutions on AWS.
• Utilize Kafka for real-time data streaming, ensuring seamless data integration and processing.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for high-performance data retrieval and schema management.
• Implement and maintain Spark Streaming pipelines for real-time geospatial data processing.
• Develop data transformation and analytics logic using Spark in Scala.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability through best practices and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance issues across geospatial applications and data pipelines.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a collaborative, innovative development culture.
• Stay current with emerging geospatial, data engineering, and cloud technologies to enhance solution capabilities.
• Contribute to technical documentation, design specifications, and user guides.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  

Required Qualifications And Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and Apache Spark (including Spark Streaming and Spark SQL).
• Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, EMR, Glue, etc.) for data and application deployment.
• Proficiency in Kafka for real-time data streaming and integration.
• Solid understanding of database design, SQL performance tuning, and data modeling.
• Proficient in Spark with Scala for distributed data processing and analytics.
• Experience working with geospatial data and tools (GIS, shapefiles, coordinate systems) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and version control (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  

Good To Have

• Experience with geospatial frameworks such as GeoTools, PostGIS, or Esri.
• Knowledge of Python for data scripting or API integrations.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
