Job Description

Senior Instrumentation Engineer/ Instrumentation Lead (Structural Testing)

Focus:

Core Responsibilities:

DAQ Architecture & Management:
Configure, deploy, and maintain high-performance Data Acquisition Systems. specifically
NI (cRIO/PXI)
and
HBM QuantumX
platforms.
Sensor Selection & Integration:
Define sensor requirements for structural tests (strain gauges, load cells, displacement sensors, accelerometers). Oversee the integration of these sensors with the DAQ hardware to ensure compatibility and optimal resolution.
Signal Conditioning:
Manage excitation voltages, amplification, and filtering parameters within the NI and HBM software environments to maximize signal-to-noise ratios.
Wiring & Noise Mitigation:
Design and supervise cabling infrastructure. Implement strict grounding and shielding protocols to eliminate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and ground loops in complex test setups.
Calibration & Traceability:
maintain calibration schedules for all NI and HBM modules and connected sensors. Perform shunt calibrations and zeroing procedures prior to testing.
