Senior IT Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Manage and maintain servers, networks, and storage systems.
• Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise IT services.
• Oversee system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  

2. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide advanced-level support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated tickets from junior IT staff.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring technical issues.
  

3. Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols and practices.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO, HIPAA).
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  

4. Project & Vendor Management

• Lead IT projects including software deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
• Collaborate with vendors for purchasing, implementation, and support of IT solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies based on business needs.
  

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to their skill development.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand IT needs.
• Provide technical guidance and strategic input to IT leadership.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong expertise in Windows/Linux servers, network protocols, firewalls, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Proficient in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Solid understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.
• Experience with enterprise IT monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
• Familiarity with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
