Role & responsibilities

Core Recruitment Skills

  1. End-to-End Recruitment

    Expertise in managing the full recruitment lifecycle (sourcing to onboarding) for blue-collar roles.
  2. Sourcing Strategies

    – Skilled in using multiple sourcing channels:
    • Local job fairs, labor camps, and skill training institutes
    • Social media groups (Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.)
    • Vendor management and labor contractors
    • Employee referral programs
  3. Screening & Shortlisting

    – Ability to assess candidates for skills, reliability, and cultural fit through interviews and background checks.
  4. Volume Hiring

    – Experience managing mass recruitment drives and maintaining a high fill rate under tight timelines.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  1. Vendor Coordination

    – Negotiating terms, ensuring quality of manpower, and managing multiple manpower suppliers.
  2. Client & Hiring Manager Coordination

    – Understanding manpower requirements and aligning recruitment strategies with operational needs.
  3. Relationship Building

    – Building trust with candidates and vendors to ensure long-term partnerships.

Operational & Analytical Skills

  1. Recruitment Metrics

    – Tracking KPIs like time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and retention rate.
  2. MIS & Reporting

    – Maintaining accurate dashboards and periodic hiring reports for management.
  3. Workforce Planning

    – Forecasting manpower requirements based on project timelines and attrition trends.

Technical & Process Knowledge

  1. ATS / HRMS Tools

    – Proficiency in recruitment management systems and Excel-based tracking.
  2. Compliance Knowledge

    – Understanding of labor laws, minimum wages, statutory benefits (PF, ESI, etc.), and contractor management compliance.
  3. Onboarding & Induction

    – Managing documentation, joining formalities, and smooth onboarding of blue-collar staff.

Soft Skills

  1. Negotiation & Persuasion

    – Convincing candidates and vendors effectively.
  2. Communication Skills

    – Clear and empathetic communication with candidates of diverse backgrounds.
  3. Team Leadership

    – Leading and mentoring junior recruiters or field coordinators.

    – Handling dynamic hiring demands and field-level challenges.
  5. Problem Solving

    – Resolving manpower shortages, absenteeism, and attrition issues quickly.
