Know more: Website/Instagram / LinkedIn About the role: We are seeking a Senior Furniture Designer with a passion for creating innovative and user-centric solutions that enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our products. The ideal candidate will excel in every stage of the design process, from ideation to execution, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. What You Will Be Doing Developing prototypes of designs using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and other design tools such as digital drawing boards or drafting tables. Creating models of new designs for testing in physical simulations testing the practicality and functionality. Working very closely with the interior design and architecture teams to translate their vision and references into actual products. Liaise with craftsmen, marketing, production, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure smooth manufacturing and delivery processes. Identify and select suitable materials, including wood, metal, plastic, and textiles, considering factors such as cost, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Planning the design and selecting suitable materials including wood, metal, plastic or textiles. Considering issues such as cost, market trends, demand, materials and manufacturing methods and techniques and safety. Meeting with suppliers to select materials that meet the designer’s requirements for quality and cost. Evaluate the performance of designs under various conditions and refine products to meet high-quality standards. Stay informed about market trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies to design competitive and innovative products. What You Bring To The Table Graduate degree or equivalent level in furniture design, product design or related fields 8+ years’ experience as a Furniture Designer / Product Designer Extensive knowledge of materials and their applications, with a strong emphasis on wood, metal, glass, and upholstery. Proficiency with tools and machinery used in furniture production. Technical expertise in ergonomics and finishing processes for various materials. Familiarity with the end-to-end production lifecycle, from design inception to final delivery. Advanced skills in AutoCAD and related design software such as Rhino 3D, 3D Studio Max, and Photoshop. Strong background in catalog creation and an understanding of furniture, fabrics, colors, millwork, and finishes.
