Responsibilities

Own end-to-end design and delivery of major features and systems across Motion’s stack
Architect and maintain scalable full-stack applications using TypeScript, Next.js, Express.js, and React Native
Develop and maintain APIs and backend services with tRPC
Collaborate cross-functionally with designers and product to shape the roadmap and technical strategy
Establish and enforce engineering best practices, testing standards, and code quality
Monitor performance, debug production issues, and drive long-term stability and scalability
Mentor and review the work of other developers to elevate the engineering team

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, tRPC, and PostgreSQL
Deep experience with Next.js (SSR & static generation) and React Native
Solid backend development expertise with Express.js
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred: S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
Comfortable designing relational database schemas and optimizing queries
Track record of owning projects from architecture → implementation → deployment
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Have

Experience with serverless architectures
Familiarity with Better-Auth
Experience integrating Stripe or other payment APIs
Prior experience mentoring teams or scaling systems in a startup environment
