Role purpose:
The L1 Linux Administrator is responsible for providing first-level support for Linux-based systems. This includes monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and escalating issues to L2/L3 teams.The role ensures system uptime and supports routine operational tasks in a 24x7 environment.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing Server related Incidents/Service Requests and Change Requests within the defined SLA.
- Perform Linux OS patching as per scheduled maintenance windows.
- Handle user management tasks including account creation, permission assignments, and password resets.
- Knowledge in Linux administration and Troubleshooting, Knowledge about Ansible and containerization technology.
- Fixing Linux Hardware and OS issues/problems.
Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience
- Understanding of Linux operating systems (RedHat, Oracle, Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with command-line tools and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of system monitoring tools.
- Knowledge about Ansible and containerization technology
- Ability to work in 24/7 shifts
Must Have Technical/professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Linux+ or RHCSA certification preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in Linux system support.
