Senior Engineer (Purchase)

- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuous supply, innovation, and value improvement.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with suppliers to secure competitive and favourable terms.

- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for raw materials, hardware, and critical components to drive cost efficiency and supply chain optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RD, Engineering, Production) to ensure alignment between sourcing strategies and business needs.

- Analyze global market trends, supply risks, and material cost drivers to adjust procurement strategies proactively.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead-time improvement, and supplier risk mitigation through effective sourcing strategies.

- Lead contract finalization and implementation for long-term supply agreements (LTAs) with vendors.

- Ensure contracts are compliant with legal, quality, and operational standards, mitigating potential supply chain risks.

- Manage vendor performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality performance, and cost targets, driving continuous improvement.

- Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations to maintain a high level of accountability.

- Resolve disputes, delays, or issues with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.

- Conduct cost-benefit analysis to determine the most efficient sourcing solutions.

- Track and report cost savings and other performance KPIs to senior management.

- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive supplier landscapes in the hardware sector.

- Evaluate alternative sources of supply, raw materials, and technologies to ensure the company stays competitive.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in engineering

- 7-10 years of relevant experience in vendor development and strategic sourcing, with a strong focus on raw materials and hardware components.

Work Experience

Experience in the hardware industry, particularly in sourcing raw materials, components, or machinery.

Knowledge Skills Required

- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with proven success in securing favourable terms with suppliers.

- Expertise in supplier qualification, audits, and performance management.

- Familiarity with global sourcing, import/export regulations, and cost analysis techniques.

- Proficient in SAP systems and procurement software, with advanced knowledge of Excel or other data analysis tools.
