KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all required maintenance tasks and procedures are properly scheduled and available to the maintenance organization.
- Ensures all new FAR maintenance program requirements are incorporated into the approved program.
- Analyzes post maintenance event data to ensure the desired results of program changes are achieved.
- Decision making process requires a strategic and tactical understanding of how different organizations within Tech Ops work together in a maintenance environment and how changes to the maintenance program impact those other organizations positively or negatively.
- Works closely with numerous departments, including Publications, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Aircraft Inspection, Engineering, Production Control, Supplier Operations and others to ensure workflow, card content, compliance with the Technical Operations Policy and Procedures.
- Supports critical negotiations with FAA by coordinating and facilitating approvals for regulatory requirements regarding program escalations and individual aircraft short term escalations to scheduled visits and/or tasks.
- Develop new programs for newly acquired aircraft and ensure necessary maintenance tasks have been completed prior to the aircraft being added to Delta’s Operations Specification.
- Development and implementation of corrective actions to FAA or Continuous Airworthiness Surveillance (CAS) findings associated with the program.
- Provides technical review and manages the coordination process through Delta’s Reliability Control Board (RCB) and the FAA for proposed program changes.
- Responsible for oversight processes used to ensure maintenance program records are complete and maintained and available for review by the FAA and CAS auditors.
- Support presentations and provide information to the Managers & Director level and above within Tech Ops.
- Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Completes Maintenance Data Change Request through the Delta approved applications and monitors progression for completeness of projects.
- Guide and mentor “Engineers” within the Maintenance programs team to deliver on some of the business objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (aerospace or mechanical preferred) or comparable experience in an engineering related field.
- 8-12 years of experience working for Airlines supporting in developing and managing Maintenance programs
- Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
- Should have a strong technical knowledge of the aircraft, thorough understanding of aircraft manuals, Technical Operations Policies and Procedures, production processes and regulatory maintenance program requirements.
- Must be able to understand task requirements and be able to develop and workflow maintenance procedures that are safe, effective and compliant.
- Must be able to coordinate workflow to multiple disciplines.
- Good experience with MS Office products and Delta applications (LMOS, SCEPTRE, AMDS).
- Should have a technical knowledge of the aircraft, understanding of aircraft manuals technical instructions, production processes and regulatory maintenance program requirements.
- Knowledge of how to maintain and develop OEM qualifications of aircraft.
- Experience leveraging FEA Analysis to evaluate fleet, substantiate data and recommendations to drive solutions.
- Must be able to understand task requirements and be able to develop and workflow maintenance procedures that are safe, effective and compliant.
- Must have experience in analysis and substantiation of tasks and in the development and optimization of maintenance programs.
- Should possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to handle several projects simultaneously with minimum supervision, well organized and able to prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):
- Technical writing experience preferred.
