Senior Engineer -Energy and Microclimate Advisory

WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer-Energy and Microclimate Advisory with more than 6 years of experience to join our large and growing Environmental and Sustainability team (Bangalore/Noida/Mumbai) to work with our Middle East Earth and Environment Advisory team.

The successful applicant will operate within a team of environmental and sustainability professionals delivering the highest standards of technical work and aiding the continued success of the team by being an integral part of our client focused delivery of projects. As a Senior team member specializing in energy advisory, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, designing, and optimizing building systems to achieve optimal performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability. You will be responsible for conducting detailed simulations, analyzing building physics data, and providing recommendations to make climate responsive design, thermal comfort, and indoor air quality. You will be joining a well-respected, large and dynamic team with a wide range of clients across different markets and sectors including national and local government, industrial, commercial and scientific sectors.

• Bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, building physics, energy engineering, or a related field. A masters degree is preferred.

• 6+ years of strong experience working in a similar role involving building microclimate modeling, performance simulations, and building physics analysis.

• Proficiency in industry-specific software, such as Rhino, Envimet, Ansys Fluent, IES VE, Grasshopper, Pollination plugins

• Knowledge of ASHRAE, LEED, WELL, building physics principles, energy codes, and other sustainability standards.

• Familiarity with sustainability certifications, such as LEED, WELL, or BREEAM, and their requirements.

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability with flexible mindset

• Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills.

• Experience of working on multiple projects, simultaneously.

• Collaborative mindset and outcome driven working method.

BGV:

• Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ( BGV ) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.

• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, delivering sustainable and climate resilience consulting services.

• Perform detailed simulations for outdoor thermal comfort, site shading, and wind flow using advanced CFD techniques.

• Analyse building physics data (thermal comfort, indoor environmental quality) to identify improvement areas and develop strategies for enhanced performance.

• Collaborate with architects, master planners and engineers to embed client with climate responsive solutions and sustainable design principles throughout project lifecycle.

• Strong experience with Outdoor thermal comfort modeling (PET, UTCI), Solar radiation and shading analysis, Wind flow and ventilation studies, Urban heat island mitigation strategies etc. Experience of handling large master planning and infrastructure projects is preferred.

• Collaborate with the larger team at WSP to develop innovative solutions, contribute to research projects, and share knowledge within the company.

• Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices in climate-responsive design, and microclimate modeling.

• Contribute to technical proposals and build relationships with potential clients.

• Manage and mentor team members and track engagement budgets.

• Lead and manage client meetings, presentations, deliverables, report submissions and resource planning.
