Senior Embedded Software Engineer/Audio

As a Senior Embedded Audio Firmware Engineer, you will be a key member of our hardware-software co-development team. You will own the audio firmware stack, from the metal to the application layer, directly shaping the performance and user experience of our products. If you are driven by solving complex challenges in Bluetooth audio, DSP optimization, and power-efficient design, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do:

• Architect & Develop: Design, implement, and optimize embedded audio firmware in C/C++ for our AR/VR platforms, focusing on real-time performance, low power consumption, and high-fidelity audio.
• Master Bluetooth Audio: Lead the development and integration of classic Bluetooth audio protocols (A2DP, AVRCP, HFP) and next-generation BLE Audio profiles (HAP, TMAP, HAS, PBP), including codecs like LC3, AAC, aptX, and SBC.
• Drive Audio Innovation: Implement and tune advanced audio algorithms for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), and bespoke audio signal processing pipelines.
• Collaborate & Integrate: Work hand-in-hand with Hardware Engineers to bring up and validate new audio hardware (microphones, speakers, codecs, amplifiers) using interfaces like I2S, PDM, UART, and SPI.
• Own Quality & Performance: Utilize tools like Audio Precision, Ellisys Bluetooth analyzers, and custom test benches to debug, profile, and ensure the highest standards of audio quality, latency, and reliability.

What You Must Bring (Must-Have Qualifications):

• 8+ years of professional experience in embedded software/firmware development with a strong focus on audio systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Embedded C/C++, with deep knowledge of real-time programming, memory management, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with Bluetooth: A comprehensive understanding of Bluetooth architecture, including classic audio profiles (A2DP, AVRCP, HFP) and hands-on experience with BLE Audio (HAP, TMAP, HAS). Experience with AoA/AoD for positioning is a significant plus.
• Proven experience with audio codecs: You have integrated and optimized codecs such as SBC, AAC, aptX, and LC3 in a production environment.
• Practical knowledge of noise reduction: You have worked on ANC, ENC, or related audio enhancement algorithms.
• A master debugger: Proficiency with embedded systems debugging, testing, and performance optimization using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Nice-to-Have Skills):

• Experience developing on embedded Linux or real-time OS (RTOS) environments like Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or ThreadX.
• Hands-on experience with Bluetooth chipset stacks from Nordic (nRF52/53), Qualcomm (QCC series), or similar vendors.
• Expertise in audio streaming architecture, buffer management, and latency minimization techniques.
• Experience with Bluetooth sniffing tools (Ellisys, Frontline, Nordic Sniffer) for protocol analysis and debugging.
• A solid understanding of audio quality metrics and testing methodologies.
• A passion for power optimization in battery-constrained wearable or IoT devices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, using Git, and championing CI/CD and test automation practices.
