Job Description

Position Title:

  • Strategic Framework: Establish a strategic framework that promotes a safety-first culture within the bottling system, focusing on identifying and controlling health and safety risks to minimize accidents and improve overall performance.
  • Policy Implementation: Define and implement safety and environmental policies, ensuring adherence to KORE, OHSAS, and regulatory requirements during capacity expansion projects.
  • Audit Readiness: Ensure the bottling plants are always ready for internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with all requirements.

Compliance & Certification

  • ISO Standards: Develop and certify effective implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs and standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards, including EPA and GAEPD Hazardous Waste Regulations.
  • Medical & Emergency Programs: Establish and maintain medical response programs and emergency response organizations.

Project Management

  • Safety in Projects: Oversee safety standards and protocols in greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring 'safety by design' principles are incorporated.
  • Risk Mitigation: Analyze project data to identify potential risks and trends, devising preventative measures.
  • Contractor Safety: Ensure external contractors comply with safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement

  • Best Practices: Seek, share, and adopt best practices to continuously improve safety and sustainability protocols.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about emerging safety technologies and integrate them into bottling plants' safety protocols.
  • Behavior-Based Safety: Implement and drive Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs to foster a Zero-Accident culture.

Communication & Training

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including local government authorities, to ensure compliance and alignment on safety initiatives.
  • Training Programs: Design and deliver safety training modules at various levels, ensuring employees are well-informed about safety protocols.
  • Safety Summit: Organize annual Project Safety Summits to share learning and promote a culture of safety.

  • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Focus
  • OHS Vision & Goals: Focus on achieving the occupational health and safety vision and goals of The Coca-Cola Company across manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • Metrics Tracking: Track and measure OHS metrics through the value chain impacting all plants and distribution centers, using statistical information and methods based on occupational health and safety risk impacts.
  • External Relationships: Establish relationships within the industry's top companies to capture and implement best practices and training portfolios.

Risk & Safety Management

  • New Technology Risk Identification: Lead risk identification and mitigation for new technologies (product, process, technology), ensuring alignment with QSE by Design (QSEbD) principles.
  • QSEbD Implementation: Ensure due diligence of new OEMs and manufacturing technologies by aligning technical specifications and qualifying them for commercialization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support H&S accelerated progress by working with global peers and Franchise H&S Managers to implement global H&S methodology and standards.

Continuous Improvement Participation

  • Sustainable Solutions: Implement sustainable solutions that become part of the safety culture in both manufacturing and commercial operations.
  • H&S Culture Transformation: Support the transformation to an H&S culture where excellence is a core value embedded in every aspect of operations.

Specialized Focus Areas

  • Fit for Purpose Lines: Support the introduction of alternate OEMs/low-cost alternatives for manufacturing lines and equipment.
  • Digitization of Safety Programs: Digitize safety programs, including contract management and e-work permits, using mobile app-based solutions like SafeGram.
  • Safety Training Coordination: Coordinate and deliver safety training to employees about safety protocols, risk factors, and policies.
  • Annual Safety Summit: Organize an annual Project Safety Summit to share project safety learnings with plants and service suppliers.
