Position Purpose

As an Electrical Safety Engineer specializing in E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation), your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe operation of electrical systems and equipment in various industrial settings.

Dimensions

His role involves evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining safety protocols and procedures related to electrical and instrumentation systems and capable of fast decision making/guide team of MPI & Agencies engineers, supervisor, and workman.

Person Profile

Educational Qualification

• Diploma/Graduate in Electrical Engineering with Post Diploma/Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from recognized university.
• For Diploma in Engineering – 5+years minimum experience.
• For B.Tech/BE – 3+years minimum experience in EPC Power Projects/ Oil & Gas/ Chemical/ Heavy Civil Infra etc

Experience

• Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations such as NFPA 70E, IEC 61508, and BOCW & Factory regulations.
• Safety Procedures Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety procedures and protocols for electrical installations, maintenance, and operation.
• Training and Education: Provide training and education to personnel on electrical safety best practices, procedures, and regulations.
• Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in investigations of electrical incidents or accidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for electrical incidents, including procedures for shutdown, isolation, and evacuation.
• Safety Equipment Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices for electrical work.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into design, construction, and maintenance activities.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and regulatory compliance documentation. Prepare reports and documentation as required.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving electrical safety processes, procedures, and equipment reliability.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations involving electrical hazards and assist in implementing emergency response measures.

Specific Skills
