3–5 years

of experience in data visualisation and illustration to join its newsroom. You will translate data and story briefs into clear, accurate, and engaging visual assets that help readers quickly understand complex business and financial information.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will work regularly with our editorial team to:

• Create cover illustrations that capture the essence of a story and engage readers.
• Design clear, easy-to-understand infographics from large, complex datasets.
• Condense large blocks of text into concise captions or summaries; strong writing and editing skills are essential.
• Develop social media carousels and visuals tailored to platform-specific audience engagement patterns.
  

CommunicationContent is often published the next day, so strong collaboration and timely communication are essential. You should follow up with colleagues for additional information when needed, communicate clearly about feasibility, and provide reliable estimates for task timelines. Consistent and prompt responses are required to meet editorial deadlines.

Qualifications

Experience:

3–5 years in graphic design with a focus on data visualisation and editorial illustration.

Skills

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.

Bonus Points

Experience with Flourish or Datawrapper is a plus.Experience in Media or Editorial Design is preffered.Preffered if you can tell story through Data i.e., you are a Data Story Teller.Soft skills and proficiency levels

• Curiosity about startups, finance, and business models, and the ability to translate that curiosity into insightful visuals.
• Problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
• Openness to feedback and iterative design; comfortable working collaboratively and revising work quickly when needed.
