Senior Delivery Manager - Engineering

Responsibilities Position Purpose: Plan, manage and deliver projects/initiatives as per business objectives.
Lead large/multiple engineering teams, including IT, operations and business domain to deliver value to the business. Essential Functions % of Time Spent Delivery Management Planning and estimation, scheduling, task allocation, monitoring control, reviews Collaborate across functional areas to define, prioritize and ensure implementation of specific innovations to improve technical functionality in support of business needs, efficiencies and revenue. Build engineering culture principles within the team. Demonstrate complete understanding ownership of the product. Enable and facilitate adoption of required skills based on the product needs for self and team. Create forums or gather data for team to gain customer perspective. Relationship Management and Partner Satisfaction Establish and continually improve project management and execution processes including Risk Management, communication, defect management prevention Status reporting, metrics generation analysis 40 Technology and Domain Provide domain and technical leadership, Knowledge Management Continual technology learner and seeking to improve themselves. Be curious about new technology possibilities and act to explore them. Improve product by understanding data patterns and integrations with other systems within the portfolio Consistently influence business technology decision-making for a project/service 30 People Management Staffing, onboarding, Skill building, Back-up Planning Employee Satisfaction Mentoring and coaching team members Handling appraisals and feedback Contribute towards HCP with program leaders 20 Contribution to organizational activities Contribute to organizational initiatives and activities that would benefit from knowledge/skills possessed by the individual as well as help the individual grow in terms of area of influence potential partnership needed beyond the business unit. 10 Dimensions: Will usually have 8-20 direct reports and will be responsible for their personnel management Can handle projects where various types of skill sets (technology) is used as well as distributed teams. Reporting Relationship: This position reports to: Program Manager (Principal Consultant) Direct Reports: Consultants, Associate Consultants, Analysts and Trainees Qualifications Know-How/Skill Sets: Education: Graduate Bachelor s degree (any stream). Experience: 12 -17 years of IT experience with 3 to 4 years in delivery management is recommended. Skills: Proven experience as an IT professional. Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus. Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred. Knowledge of business unit applications preferred. Advanced planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required. Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of Java, J2EE, Springboot, microservices, distributed and/or web programming language, cloud, DevOps, modern engineering techniques Strong leadership and presentation skills required. Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow. Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both It and non-IT partners. Some travel may be required, including overnight stays. May be required to provide on-call support.
