Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practices for data quality, governance, and stewardship across the organization.
• Architect, develop, and manage advanced data pipelines leveraging tools such as Python, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, and Hightouch.
• Set coding and data management standards to ensure performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Conduct code and design reviews to maintain high-quality output across all projects.
• Solve intricate data challenges through thoughtful design and forward-looking architecture.
• Guide and coach junior engineers, providing both technical and career mentorship.
• Enhance and expand current data infrastructure capabilities, introducing modern data engineering practices and frameworks.
• Implement reverse ETL workflows to push key metrics and insights into operational platforms.
• Work closely with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Customer Success to maintain a single source of truth and improve data accuracy.
• Manage data collection from multiple systems, ensuring transformation, cleansing, and quality validation before integration into unified cloud storage.
• Continuously improve processes by automating manual tasks, optimizing workflows, and enhancing system scalability.
• Define and document data standards and operating procedures, driving automation wherever possible.
• Collaborate with various teams to identify critical business metrics, streamline reporting, and enable self-service analytics.
• Support documentation efforts for both functional and technical data solutions.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Act as a technical leader, providing direction and mentorship to the wider data team.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and AWS.
• Deep familiarity with Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Hightouch, Git, and related tools.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, modeling, and governance principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead data initiatives that support analytics, BI, and decision-making.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to accuracy and detail.
• Skilled in communicating complex data insights in both technical and business-friendly language.
• Proven success in managing projects, collaborating cross-functionally, and influencing stakeholders.
• Experience in data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an advantage.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a data engineering team is preferred.
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies is desirable.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹3,500,000.00 per year
