Job Summary:
Equinox Engineering is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience in EPCM or related engineering environments within the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will lead and deliver civil/structural engineering design activities, provide technical direction to project teams, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements throughout all project phases. Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil/structural engineering scope for assigned projects from concept to IFC.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and deliverables prepared by others.
- Participate in workload planning, task prioritization, and schedule management.
- Experience in civil and earthwork design is an asset.
- Perform structural design calculations, prepare engineering sketches, and review drawings.
- Prepare and review technical documents, including reports, specifications, and material take-offs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with project objectives.
- Conduct site visits to support data collection, assessments, and construction activities as required.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Provide technical support during design reviews and construction phases.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow quality control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with North American and Australian codes and standards (CSA, AISC, ACI, ASCE, NBC, AS-NZS etc.).
- Apply best engineering practices for oil & gas facilities, including seismic, wind, blast, and fatigue considerations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including steel, concrete, foundation and civil design.
- Advanced experience with structural analysis and design software (STAAD, RISA, ETABS, SAFE, Mathcad).
- Ability to review and validate 3D models from civil/structural perspective (e.g., Navisworks, E3D, Tekla – if applicable).
- Experience with design automation or calculation standardization is an asset.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to perform complex structural calculations and interpret engineering data.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration and technical documentation.

Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10+ year’s oil and gas experience (with EPCM background).
- Experience in EPC, EPCM or project-based professional services industry/ies.
