Senior Architect

As a creative architect with an entrepreneurial mindset and a minimum of six years of practical experience, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading architecture and interior design projects in our Rotterdam office. Working closely with architects and interior designers, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the portfolio, driving creative direction and enjoying significant autonomy within a well-respected team of around 40 professionals. This role requires a commercially astute individual with demonstrable experience in securing and managing projects, particularly in private residential, hospitality, and medium-scale public commissions. As a key figurehead, you will lead projects from initial client engagement through to completion, oversee a portfolio of architecture and interior projects, identify growth opportunities, develop project briefs, manage project finances, represent the studio at industry events, drive new business, collaborate with the press and communications team, and mentor a team of architects and designers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead projects from initial client engagement through to completion, reporting directly to the directors. - Shape and oversee a portfolio of architecture and interior projects, ensuring the highest design and delivery standards. - Identify growth opportunities by understanding the studios strengths and potential areas for expansion. - Develop and analyze project briefs in collaboration with the team. - Oversee project finances, set strategic financial goals, and contribute to the studios growth strategy. - Represent the studio at industry events, networking functions, and competitions. - Drive new business and client development through strong storytelling and design strategies. - Collaborate with the press and communications team on content, social media, newsletters, and branding material. - Mentor and lead a team of architects and designers, fostering professional growth and strong delegation. **Qualities and Skills Required:** - Qualified Architect or Interior Designer with a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience. - Experience in hospitality (hotels/F&B), private residential, or medium-scale public sector projects. - A proven track record of winning work and maintaining a network of clients in the private residential or hospitality sector. - Expertise in public tenders and design competitions. - Strong understanding of design, construction, and refurbishment processes. - Confident in pitching and presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders at all levels. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report clearly on project and team performance. - Fluent in Dutch and English. **Why Join Us ** This role offers a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership position with the creative freedom to shape the studios direction, backed by a globally respected firm that values innovation, collaboration, and ambitious design thinking.
