We are looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Application Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time, remote contract basis. You will play a leading role in developing and maintaining our mobile applications for a fast-growing UK-based platform.

Job Summary

The Senior Mobile Application Engineer will lead the mobile development efforts for our delivery platform. The role involves hands-on work with React Native, managing complex application states, integrating APIs, and ensuring excellent app performance and reliability across iOS and Android devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile applications using React Native for both iOS and Android.
• Integrate third-party APIs such as Google Maps, Stripe (payment gateway), and internal backend services.
• Manage complex app states using Redux for maintainability and performance.
• Work closely with backend developers and UI/UX designers to ensure seamless functionality and user experience.
• Optimize app performance, responsiveness, and security.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code using Jest and related testing frameworks.
• Manage App Store and Google Play Store submissions and updates.
• Implement WebSocket-based real-time communication with backend servers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in mobile application development.
• Proven expertise in React Native, Redux.js, and Firebase Authentication.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade mobile applications that are scalable, secure, and performance-optimized.
• Strong understanding of integrating third-party APIs and backend services.
• Solid grasp of mobile app lifecycle management, version control, and build tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
