Role & responsibilities The SMT Machine Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of SMT machines and related equipment at customer sites. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission new SMT machines and equipment at customer sites. Conduct initial setup and calibration to ensure optimal machine performance. Maintenance and Repair: • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on SMT machines to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues in a timely manner. • Replace defective parts and ensure machines are restored to proper working condition. Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical problems with SMT equipment. • Provide remote and on-site support to customers for troubleshooting and resolving issues. Customer Support: • Provide training and technical support to customers on the proper use and maintenance of SMT machines. Respond to customer inquiries and service requests promptly and professionally. • Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance logs, service reports, and parts inventory. • Prepare detailed reports on machine performance, issues identified, and corrective actions taken. Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated with the latest advancements in SMT technology and equipment. • Recommend improvements to service procedures and equipment to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: • Education: Diploma or bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in servicing SMT machines or similar electronic manufacturing equipment. Technical Skills: • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing SMT equipment. • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of SMT machines. • Familiarity with SMT machine brands such as Fuji, Yamaha, Panasonic, and similar. Purpose of the Role The purpose of the Senior Application Engineer role is to design and implement customized industrial automation solutions that meet client-specific requirements. This role ensures successful delivery of automation projects by combining expertise in PLCs, HMIs, robots, and LabVIEW development with practical system integration and engineering design. Technical Skills Required Proficient LabVIEW Developer with hands-on application development experience. Extensive experience in Robot Programming : EPSON, MITSUBISHI (others preferred). Strong knowledge and practical exposure to PLC & HMI Programming : Mitsubishi & Siemens Experience with communication protocol establishment between robots, PLCs, and HMIs. Competent in electrical design tools such as AutoCAD for schematic creation. Ability to prepare BOMs, interfacing diagrams , and design documents. Hands-on experience in application wiring, ferruling, labelling , and troubleshooting. Behavioral Skills Required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Program and integrate Robots (EPSON, MITSUBISHI) and PLC/HMI systems (Mitsubishi, Siemens). Design and implement effective communication protocols between automation components. Select appropriate controllers and components to optimize application cost and performance. Prepare detailed AutoCAD schematics , BOMs , and interfacing diagrams addressing design and manufacturing considerations. Create modular application programming blocks and generate function verification reports. Execute complete system wiring , labeling, and panel building as per design specifications. Develop comprehensive Operation and Programming Manuals to be delivered with the system. Collaborate with internal teams on concept design, development, installation , and trial execution . Prepare and conduct QA, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) reports for final customer validation.
